The “next 200 ft”

If you’ve seen “The Secret” you’ve heard how Jack Canfield (author of Chicken Soup for the Soul books) describes our soul’s journey…to realize our Authentic Self…the spiritual being having a human experience…as he described it as driving from NY to CA in the dark and only using the illumined 200 ft in front of us from the our headlights. We’ll get to CA, or any destination of our journey, in the manner of “200 ft at a time”…Universal unfoldment.

The thing is…we can be an irate driver or a joyous one. One with road rage, driving erratically, bumping others out of the way, crashing, etc etc etc.  Or we can be singing with our radios, enjoying the scenery, respectful for others on the road, sharing and providing roadside assistance, etc etc etc.

Our soul knows what its doing. The best part of this human experience is taking the cues of these soul adventures and turning them into personal renewal and evolvement.

Growing into our Best Selves. Our Authentic Selves. The self that has to strip away the ego’s fear and need to control…the guilt, regret, unworthiness, hatred, etc etc etc. We are programmed from our earliest times that Life is only the physical expression, full of restrictions, attachments and lack. From our government to our religions to our family traditions, we build layer upon layer of the lies of the ego hiding the glory of our true nature.

Jesus, and other avatars, as well as the “new age/new thought” speakers and authors refer to “going within” to find our God-ness…created in the image of All That Is.

So when the soul presents a challenge…and we know this when we erupt in a volcano of negative emotion, overwhelment and victimization…we can take this as a cue to go within, re-think and re-act differently and become an expression of authenticity.

I recently had another volcano…my soul challenging me to rise above my fears and lack mentality and rebuild my faith in a wondrous and abundant Universe.  I thank all around me who are involved in providing me with the challenge and helping me through it…for we are not alone in this.  And I thank the Universe for always giving me a chance to express even if a tidbit of our true nature.  We have the wonderful opportunity of having a lifetime (at least one) to do this. We can choose every day how we express ourselves…to take the next 200 ft…or to sit in neutral for a while…or veer off in directionless detours.

The Universe always provides Unconditional Love, Infinite Wisdom and Unlimited Power of Creation. We can choose to play in this game or continue in our lack physical expression. But we’ll always be loved, wise and powerful.

It’s times like this as I reflect upon an event that helps to get a glimpse of the Heaven ahead of me…ahead of all of us.

oh what a feeling!

:)

If Medium, then…

I accidentally became a medium.  A medium is one who can access information from the non-physical realm…or you may also have heard it described as being able to “talk to dead people”…however, I prefer to say it as interpreting messages from those who have already passed into Spirit.

Briefly, the story is: Several years ago, I decided to attend a “meditation circle” one evening at a Spiritualist Church.  But when I heard it was a “mediumship circle” I turned to walk out. But, the pastor/teacher turned me back around and said: “oh you’re right where you’re supposed to be.”

Now I didn’t consider myself “a medium” as most mediums talk about having “the gift since birth”…which I didn’t. But over a couple of years and attending several classes, seminars and workshops, I’ve learned to be a medium. My most exciting class was taken by a couple from the UK whose premise is that all people possess this natural ability to access information from the non-physical arena.

I’ve “done message-work” for several years now and am still amazed at the power of the imagery and validation of the message by the recipient. The Universe has quite a sense of humor and “imagination” to “make me say” what they want to convey.  But I fully believe in the quality and validity of this information, from loved ones or Spirit Guides…from the Universe!

Now my other favorite thing and current mission is from the Edgar Cayce quote “Spirit is the Life, Mind is the Builder, Physical is the Result” meaning, we are spiritual beings first…beings of energy first…we use our mind AND Universal Mind to result in our physical realty.  The “thoughts are things” concept.

I love “The Secret”, “Words from the Universe” and “The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success” etc etc etc  but this is big deal…a serious endeavor…because it involves a lot…A LOT…of  self-reflection and renewal. We have to change our limiting programming…our thoughts and our very words…to fully realize the abundant, nurturing, loving, growing, expanding nature of the Universe and play in that arena!

One of my biggest challenges…aka opportunities…is to re-learn my own worth to live abundantly well…to create abundance, prosperity, etc., and feel worthy of it. Thinking it was a past life thing…and growing up with “Who do you think I am, Rockefeller?”

It’s easy to get stressful about monies, financial security, accepting “stuff happens” around us…but the other day, I had this thought:

IF MEDIUM,  (as a verb) to access the power of imagery and vibrations from a non-physical world…aka the Universe…I believe this is true…

…and if the non-physical word…aka the Universe…is this awesome power of vibrations that create positive, loving, ever-expanding reality…and I believe that is true…

THEN, I believe accessing the non-physical Universe AND its power of creation is true.

If Medium, then Universe!

This smashes limiting beliefs to bits!  Or as Louise Hay says…when you say YES to the Universe, it says YES to you!

It’s a faith builder…

woo-hooooooooooooooooooo!!!

:)

Time for something new

I’m in a new environment. I moved my shop inside my friend’s hair salon…she has this big wonderful space and like moving into a furnished apartment (she had lots of displays ready), the products went out relatively easily!

I can’t help but listen in on the conversations of the day.  Sue, my friend and owner of the salon, engages and sometimes re-engages the same topics of conversation with all her clients.  She does so refreshingly, positively and sincerely because she says “every half hour is a new day” and its the wisdom of her experience.

As Deepak Chopra says, we spend 99.9% of our energy defending our point of view…primarily made up of our ego’s fears, self-imposed limitations and mis-beliefs. Realizing this is one thing…how to take it into our words, conversations and relationships is another.

But, time for something new!  I know I assume people already know what I’m talking about, and I get frustrated and whine “why don’t they get it?”  Yet it’s my conversation that can be refreshed to “always be a new day” with the one I am talking.

Let’s give it a shot!  :)

I love the “thoughts are things” Universe! I own a new age store…we have things like incense, candles, crystals, sound items, statuary, etc., to assist people to focus energies to better self and space.

We recently moved the store inside a salon and a “new” group of people so I am anticipating a need to explain/have signs that describe the items we have and why.  What prompted my pondering of “thoughs are things” a little further was a comment from friend who visited our new location and mentioned “having something red” by the cash register of my store for good luck, prosperity…following a feng shui thing I believe.

So thinking about “something red” I wondered about all the rules we follow and where those beliefs come from…our childhood as well as the traditions of centuries.

I totally understand the use of all the tools and processes (from positive affirmations to ceremony and prayer) but at the end of the day, it’s our mind connected with Universal Mind that’s the real deal!  And when we focus “our” thoughts, stuff happens!

With this said, I should be able to think prosperity–even if in the color red in my wealth corner–and get those energies out to the Universe for manifestation.

I think I will…

:)

There are definitions of this phrase, but here’s mine.  Well, not “mine” as we are all connected to the Universal Mind and are inspirationally impacted…good stuff…

In our society, we are programmed into expressing our ego selves from birth. These become our “first thoughts” of survival, competition, lack, separateness, materialistic/object referral kinds of things.  Ego. Typically, we react to our day-to-day situations from this place…triggering the chemical reactions linked to past behavior, feelings, beliefs and ultimately our actions. This produces the endless chatter in our brains, reflecting our worry, regrets, etc.

But the good news is we have the brain power to re-link to create a “better” reaction and to engage our authentic (soul) self.

This is what I refer to as the “second thought” . This lets us really consider what’s going on from a bigger perspective (not just the scared ego self) and choose a different reality…to choose the higher ground, , enlightenment, etc.

Sometimes, I find I go to third, fourth and fifth thoughts as I work on situations that challenge my ingrained beliefs and past behaviors.  This is normal and part of the journey of a “spiritual being having a human experience.”

What’s the bar? Avatars like Jesus, Buddha were the 100% First Thought beings.  And I believe our purpose is to get the second+ thoughts to the first thought more often…increasing our % over many lives, getting closer to this ultimate expression of Oneness.

There are days I’m at 0%…completely reacting to my fears and then there are times my second thoughts show up at the head of the class.  Always a journey…

I attended a workshop last year presented by a couple from the UK on the subject of developing psychic-mediumistic abilities. It was awesomely delightful as it presented a different way of thinking and using our natural ability to link in with not only our higher self, but the loved ones who have passed …who are always looking for ways to convey their love and support to us here in the physical world.

We invited “Paul and Debs” to Rochester this past week to provide that same seminar to folks here, providing an opportunity for others to experience a new perspective in this field of service…becoming a professional medium…and raising the quality of the readings so that they are of the most value to the client.

While I didn’t participate in the seminar this time, I found myself re-listening and re-digesting their views, opinions, beliefs…from their point of view.  It almost made me think I was still on a flat earth. I knew what I was hearing made sense…again…but realized I still looked out to my horizon to a flat earth…my unconscious norms.

If the earth is flat, I worry about the drop off…and hold back the creative possibilities.

If the earth is round, it is continuous and offers endless choices and opportunities to experience new lands of thinking, feeling, saying, doing.

This horizon adventure continued with various conversations, as I peppered my guests with questions and “what-if” scenarios about how they did their work.

It has been a refreshing week…the horizon is rounder now…a nice reminder to challenge my norms…all the time.  The result…a great new world!

New Age…yeah yeah yeah

I’m smack in the middle of transformation…physically from one woman’s phase to another…mentally from corporate connie to spiritual-entrepreneur connie (still working on the thought processes involved with this one) and emotionally from…well…who the hell knows what this is as all sorts of emotions are boiling up as a result of the first two areas.

It’s not coincidental that all this transformation is mimicking what’s happening in our relationships, in our community, in our society and all over the world…mentally, physically, spirituality.

I get exhausted when reading old age and new age stuff.  Old Age:  how lousy everything is…how negative everything is…how hopeless it is…all the rules, the politics, life is unfair, and the fight for this and that.  New age: how it is a consciousness evolution to the 4th or 5th dimensions, the shift in Mother Nature, “lightworkers”, getting back to our core beliefs and values (they’ve changed in every generation since we started haven’t they?), the stress on our emotional and mental sensitivities…basically, the energies of everything.

Heck, that’s the stuff I say…and I’m exhausted!

When I used to get overwhelmed in my corporate job as an administrative assistant, I’d clear off all the piles of work on my desk, rip up all the to-do lists, put everything away…then reset myself and start over, simplifying it as I went along.  We can get “wrapped up in the axle” that we don’t see how complicated things get.

So times like these, when I want to clear everything off, old age or new age, and go back to basic energies, I ponder…

If we know we are expressions of Great Oneness of Divinity, then everything else are just names and labels.

And if we know that the purpose of this love expression is for service and joy, then everything else is just a to-do list.

And we don’t need to make it a big to-do.

This is probably going to be one of those “easier said than done” kinds of things but I’d like to go through my day more simply, keeping in mind a wonder-ful expression of Great Oneness of Divinity in joy and service to those around me.

Einstein said it like this:  “I want to know God’s thoughts; the rest are details.”

Sounds pretty simple to me.

:)

I am a student of the philosophies of “we are co-creators” of this Universe. And it started over 20 years ago when I used to watch Bill Alexander Oil Painting on PBS. He was a delightful man who used his own method of wet-on-wet oil painting techniques, creating beautiful scenes seemingly “so simply”.  He also used to say “you are the almighty creator” as his inspiration  and connection to the Universe was expressed.

“You have to brainwash yourself, convince yourself, of your own
creative power in order to get that better tomorrow.” Bill Alexander 1982

Yes…wash brain of all the muck and mud of our society…and literally re-neuralize ourselves to use “Spirit is the Life” power.

I woke up today energized. I just had a friend/healer tell me the same thing.

“I felt the movement of Creation” I told her. This was as I was “creating my day” (Dr. Joe Dispenza…”Evolve Your Brain”) quiet time…coffee with God.

Many describe the manifesting process (Abraham/Esther Hicks and others) as thought powered intention, focused attention, and the exhilarating feelings generated…thinking from the end… of the object(s) desired. Once created in the Zone/Field/Spirit/Energy/Universe, then we pull it forward into existence. This is our work, powered by re-neuralized brainwaves of positive, appreciated, emotionally unattached, unstressed (that’s the tough one) thoughts, words, actions.

This is the on-going adventure we can choose to have.

I felt the movement of Creation this morning, a sense that the item of my attention has birthed and taken its first steps. I urge it forward with loving arms and encouraging words. While I don’t physically see it yet, I feel its energy and believe the forms will appear shortly. And I’m already full of excitement and joy.

Holy cow! Isn’t this a great way to start your day!

:)

Isn’t that a great phrase? I heard it somewhere…but can’t remember where…so it’s in quotes attributed to Anonymous.

One of the Seven Spiritual Laws Deepak Chopra writes about is “The Law of Least Effort” and with that, the KISS method…Keeping is Simply Spirit…usually pops back into my reality especially when I get so wrapped up in the details, I drive myself…and others…crazy!

And so another “aaaahhhh” moment — that’s the one when you take a big sigh in letting go of making things harder than they need to be.

I sigh a lot!

Lots of teachers, authors, books, cd’s, internet talk about what Edgar Cayce termed as “Spirit is the Life; Mind is the Builder; Physical is the Result.”

My daily work is creating a working relationship with Spirit (my Higher Self, Guides, Angels, Teachers…name name name…the Universe) AND incorporating the Teachings of Abraham (“Ask and It Is Given”), “thoughts become things,”  “The Secret” …name name name… Universal Laws, I went back to” Spirit is the Life.”

We limit ourselves with a physical-only expression and it’s drilled into us daily through our “modern” society to not consider our greater selves.   The new thought philosophies…aimed at remembering our connections to nature, spirit, each other (like in the movie “Avatar”)…is the movement that makes the most sense…and the most of our senses…physical and non-physical or psychic senses to engage all of life…All That Is…in our day-to-day.

It’s easy to DO “Spirit is the Life” during the good times. We celebrate ourselves when we are confident in our knowing, things make sense, life is clicking along nicely…LG in our comfort zone.

The toughest part is to DO this when the chips are down…the #@*% hits the fan, when things just aren’t going the way we want them to, or we have no clue on what to do next as we struggle with our life decisions.  This coincides with moving OUT of our comfort zone.

When the going is tough, the tough get going   OR  when our comfort zone is shaking like a 7.0 earthquake, it’s time to shake it up too.  I’ve read somewhere that we have60,000 thoughts a day…and 95% of them are the same ones we thought yesterday. Wow, if that doesn’t shake you up!

I’m being more aware of my thoughts and checking to see how often they are the same ones as yesterday…or if I’m doing the same reactions as yesterday…living the same emotional woes as yesterday.  Old thoughts have brain trails leading to rehearsed emotional responses. But as Dr. Joe Dispenze writes in “Evolve Your Brain”, we can blaze new trails to better responses and behaviors.  New thoughts…new words…new behaviors…new habits.

Just like writing down all the food we eat when attempting to change our eating habits, I’m journaling old thoughts and new thoughts to be more aware of them, following Dr. Chopra’s “Seven Spiritual Laws” and a slew of other inputs that are available today to be more mindful…ultimately to engage Spirit is the Life every day.

Well, this seems simple to me…but it’s all in a day’s work…every day’s work. I guess it wouldn’t be any other way.

:)

The Higher Consciousness Way

I have a very good friend, since the time of my younger school days, who writes for BellaOnLine.com regarding her love and passion, horses. Sue is also wonderfully connected in Mind-Body-Spirit and expresses her values and truths in a way to help grow a higher consciousness way.

That phrase just hit me when I used it in a Facebook comment to her posting  to offer a more clear way to describe “new age” and “metaphysical” in a way that offers direction (and not just a label):  Pursuing a daily expression in the Higher Consciousness way.

This is not new…it’s just my way of expressing it…it is what is described by authors, speakers, song writers and channelers of unseen intelligence today…and the essence of religion (not the human-intepretted dogma) for the thousands of years.

In a Steve Wonder song, he sings  “I’m so darn glad He let me try it again ’cause my last time on earth I lived a whole world of sin. I’m so glad that I know more than I knew then. Gonna keep on tryin’ till I reach my highest ground” he acknowledges our life purpose (life being eternal and not just this one particular expression) of seeking our best Selves.

Higher Consciousness expressed through “the way” as  I believe Jesus as a master who expressed it as “I am” (Love) the Way”  as well as what is referred to as the Buddha-Nature, and The Beatles “All we need is Love.”

White Eagle, as channeled through Grace Cooke, succinctly puts it as expressions from the highest Universal beingness…as Universal Laws of Unconditional Love, Infinite Wisdom, and Unlimited Power of Creation.

Edgar Cayce said it this way: “Spirit is the Life, Mind is the Builder, Physical is the Result” or in the quote “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience.”

Our best Self. Capital S. Spirit. Capital S. Working from the point of view that we are part of a grand Universal existence, not just an Earth expression limited by our human interpretations. Our very essence is the same as the entire Universe, just a smaller spark of it.

To line up, resonate with, and attune ourselves to this is to re-evaluate “what we know” every day and continuously seek a higher consciousness thought, word and action.  Higher. Let’s not stress about reaching “highest” at this point…while some are on that road in mastery, guru, avatar, etc., most of us are working on making just one step toward higher ground.

TS Elliot wrote “There is only the dance” …an expression of the back and forth movement of our efforts…part of the duality of human existence, but knowing what we are ultimately striving for is a great adventure!

Re-evaluate our daily thoughts that drive our beliefs that form our habits. Are they social/religious/conventional thinking of our times? Are they emotionally drama laden? Do we come from a point of “Unlimited Power of Creation” or from a point of limiting lack and fear? What words are we using? Do our actions consider the Oneness around us?  Tons of books/internet on this…don’t need to cover that here.

I strive to express Spirit first…a higher consciousness way…but believe me, I (little self) get in my own way, letting old patterns of fear and doubt overrun my verbal output.  “til I reach my highest ground” is trip that can turn into a wonder-full adventure!
